Co-Founder
Antoine is a CNRS research director at the Laboratoire d'Océanographie de Villefranche-sur-Mer, which he headed from 2011 to 2018.
His research has focused on the role of marine plankton in ocean biogeochemical cycles, with a particular emphasis on the response of phytoplankton physiology to variability in growth conditions in the marine environment, combining a field approach, laboratory experiments (with the development of an automated microalgae culture device capable of simulating in situ environmental conditions), and modelling.
He has been involved in a number of projects aimed at optimising microalgae production processes. He has supervised three theses on directed evolution. Antoine is the author of over 130 scientific articles and 3 patents relating to microalgae.
